i got this image: http://grungetextures.com/freebies/download/5-wrinkled-parchment-paper.jpg
then i desaturated it in photoshop and turned the layer to multiply. multiply allows the blacks to show while making the whites more transparent. i liked how it turned out, so i didn't do any adjustments after that. super simple!
